A letter from Aug 18, 2022

Dear FutureMe, This is the second letter i'm being told to write to myself. We live in New Smyrna Beach and go to NSB High. It's our third sophomore year and I'm not gonna lie; I'm nervous. We have a couple of friends like Rowan's friend group and what not. I'm not too focused on finding friends or maintaining people, just our grades. When I focus on others I always forget what's important; Me. Do you still like the same things? My favorite songs are probably Me and Your Mama by Childish Gambino and Spin You Round. My favorite snack is Takis and mixed fruits (separate of course). I like gaming but we only have access to Roblox and Fortnite right now. Outside of that I enjoy all of the Call of Duty games, 7 Days to Die, Raft, The Forest, Fall Guys and etc. I don't read a lot but my favorite book is The Hate U Give. My favorite movies are Turning Red, Coraline, Silent Hill and Jurassic World Dominion. My favorite outfit is those brown pants with the blue Old Navy shirt. I wonder if we still have the same people in our lives. Y'know our family and what not and I doubt anyone is leaving it anytime soon. I don't have any best friends but Natalie is still our close friend and Quad counts as a sibling so I can't call him a best friend. We're dating Rowan and he's a sweetheart. He used to be so iffy in the beginning but now he actually feels like my boyfriend; he makes us feel so loved even when distant. All of our real life friends are also his friends too. We're starting to drop Sam/Zack and Nikoc because they are just getting worse as time goes on. It's a shame but it won't matter in a few years. I have some pretty mixed signals on what I wanna do with my life. I just know I wanna get out of school asap. I'm **** near 18, this is getting VERY old. This guidline paper is asking me if I want to become a better writer and reader but honestly that's bs. I don't care about any of that man. I want to do me. I want to do something with engineering in it and I want to help wildlife. I want to live a long and healthy life man and I don't want a paper to determine that. For my future self. For you. I want you to be happy, just do your best and please don't give up yet. I promise you it'll get better one day, just give life a chance. Keep chasing your dreams and keep being a ray of sunshine.
