A letter from November 27th, 2020

Dear FutureMe, Hi there! This is kelsey from 2020. Wanted to send a letter highlighting some things going on right now to see how different they become in 5 years time. It's the day after Thanksgiving, black Friday. There was no midnight starting sales and no mobs of people trampling each other to get into walmart, so that's nice. This fall marks one full year I've worked at Jerry's artarama. Im actually typing this on my break. This monday I'm meeting with christine Greenwood to rent her studio for 3 months. Trevor and I got married last month. Everyone is still wearing masks and social distancing (ish). We're in one if the biggest spikes of covid and not much has changed. School and recreation sports and clubs have been cancelled until further notice except for Trevor's swimteam cuz bigsky dont give a flying fish about state regulations apparently. We're being told as soon as next spring there might be a vaccine but who knows. Biden won the election, I hope that went well. This will either age like wine or milk lol. Trevor and I are still living with his parents on cheap rent, he's slowly dragging himself through school but obviously covid has made it very difficult. The plan is for him to work at a school and we move out and buy a house in a nearby area to his work. I don't have a plan. My only idea right now is to see if I have what it takes to output art at a regular rate and learn well while in a studio. If I can, great, if I can't, well now I know. At this moment I can't say i can pick a direction. This job is pretty great. Right now we have fiona, Nate, chelsea, chris, Anya (ah-nigh-ah), and dan. I wonder how long I stay and who sticks around. We just put up hiring signs so hopefully we get some full time people to take over register so I can have more time on the floor. We have our cat Merlin at home, my bearded dragon ouroboros and our 2 water turtles that I don't want anymore. I've been working on a small painting of a vase of flowers that trevor bought me for months now, I wonder if I ever finished it. Alex is dating alex and I like him a lot so I hope he's still around. I bought my first car all on my own early this year, in February. A 2014 vw jetta, drives like a dream so far. Let's see if it can handle the snow this winter!
