diverting the pain of potential past FutureMe missives

Dear FutureMe, I am more than a little concerned that at some point in the past, following some sort of self-destructive, non-whimsical impulse I may have sent FutureMe email of an abusive nature to myself. Probably something along the lines of, "There is virtually no chance that you have managed to do any of the stuff you wanted to do, you fucking failure." If this is the case, if you have received something like this, or if you are destined to receive something like this, then I want you to think about why it is so tempting to consider my past self as an object for contempt and my future self as an enemy.
