Dear FutureMe,
It's been a year since I saw him at my uncle's funeral. I'm glad we talked, but there was so much more I wanted to say and didn't. I realize he probably doesn't need or want it, but I wanted to apologize if I hurt him all those years ago (as two of his brothers told me). At first I thought he was over me. Afterall, he has a wife and two children. But then I saw him stealing glances at me all day. I will admit, when we were kids, I was a bit conceited and completely spoiled knowing about his infatuation. Now I am humbled and realize I hold a special place in my heart for him, then and now.
When we hugged goodbye, I was brave enough to say "Luv ya." I hope it warmed his heart.
I hope to see him again, but fear it will take another funeral ... as I live 900 miles away.
