Dear FutureMe, You quit smoking yesterday, well, mostly. You did smoke those stale cigarettes you had in the car. And then there was the one you had to tape back together. But today you haven't had one and I'm wondering if you still haven't had one. I hope not. Smoking really sucks and Jat is so proud of you and happy that you're quitting.
You should never have started. You should have listened to all those adults who told you, when you were a teenager, to never start smoking. You should have remembered your dad and how much you hated his cigarettes. I'd like to tell every young person I meet to never, ever smoke. The addiction sucks you in and it's very slippery.
But I'm past all that today and in 6 months, when you get this email, I hope you're even further past it.
Love,
Me
